    Hi Dr. Justin,

You almost lost me on this one. Did I misunderstand Dr. Kruse when he said the Masai eat lots of carbs, but because they live close to the equator the detriment of their high carb diet is negated?
The Masai are pastoral people and subsist mainly on what they farm- cows. From tip to tail, nothing is wasted, including the blood. They have a very high fat diet, around 60%, I believe. (The anthropology books are packed away) They also drink fermented foods, and eat plants and bark- very seasonally. Being pastoral, this means they walk. A lot. Combine all of those factors with they don't have fast food restaurants on their pastoral lands, and I think this may be why they are so healthy.

Also, if his theory were true, why are there so many overweight, carb-loving people in Hawaii? (I was one of them for 8 years) just sayin'-
Rant over, keep up the interesting podcasts!
